LIVING ART
Contemporary, impressionistic paintings of Maine and her people

Welcome to LIVING Art, a ministry dedicated to furthering the
understanding of the importance of the visual arts for the good of
mankind and the glory of YHVH. The works featured on this website
are those of ministry artist, Mary Louise;Town Jaqua.

Mary has painted professionally since 1973 in the disciplines of oil
painting, watercolor, pastel, and mural art. Her career began in
display and advertising art but gradually shifted to fine art. After
several years as a successful muralist, Mary settled on oil painting
as her life calling.

Mary's love for painting is evident in the quality of her work and the
facility with which she commands her medium. The size and subject
matter of many of her paintings are an indication that Mary is an artist
who is not easily intimidated. Her mural commissions display a rare
sense of diverse subject matter, design, and execution that has
translated into her work as an oil painter.

Though she is comfortable working in many media, oil painting is
Mary's media of choice, since she feels it affords her the greatest
challenge and latitude of expression. Her oil paintings reflect her life,
especially as it relates to Maine...her home since 1984.

The paintings shown on this website are part of the LIVING Art
Museum
and are not for sale. Prints of original works are available
on a suggested donation basis where noted.
